Description
The Force, Incorporated Model 2762 ExcelLinxPlus Studio Quality FM Video/Stereo Audio Fiber Optic Link provides a high quality system for transferring baseband video and stereo audio signals with complete EMI immunity via fiber optics. This FM video fiber optic link offers studio quality Model 2762 audio and video in low to moderate optical loss applications. A state-of-the art FM modulator/demodulator and optical components are incorporated to achieve RS-250C short haul video-quality performance for distances up to 100 km over optical fiber. The link is available for use in 1310 nm or 1550 nm wavelengths. High power single-mode or multimode optics are incorporated to fit any application needs without user adjustments.
Both video and audio inputs use differential input network designs to eliminate hum and other common mode signals. The internal audio format is AES/EBU standard full 24-bit stereo digital audio using 64x oversampling with frequency response from 20 Hz to 20 kHz and beyond. Externally coded AES/EBU data can also be used through a RS-422 customer switch selectable input and full time output in both RS-422 and analog outputs. An earphone jack with volume control is included to monitor the audio input and output signals Video transmission options include NTSC 525/60 or 625/50 which must be specified at the time of ordering. The video input has a loop-through/terminate switch that allows the user to select the input termination choice as well as a cable-equalizer for input and output for up to 400 feet of RG59/U coaxial cable. A video monitor jack is included for ease of adjustment.
The Model 2762 is available in two packaging configurations. The first is a rugged stand-alone module that provides excellent EMI/RFI shielding. The second is a 1RU (1.72 inch) high, 19 ich wide rack-mount transmitter/receiver pair for use in standard EIA 19 inch rack-mount situations. NTSC versions are powered by a compact wall-mounted Model PS300 power supply (120 VAC 60 Hz applications, see TB043), and PAL versions are powered by Model PS300/I power supply (220 VAC 50/60 Hz applications, see TB184) with an IEC-320 connector.
